Serves as a core group to coordinate the various outreach programs of the
parish.

Seeks to welcome persons with disabilities and their families into parish
life and enable them to participate in parish programs.

Gives families the opportunity to join other families in their parish and
to plan and share Christ-centered activities. They sponsor the Family Picnic in September
and the Parish Family Communion Breakfast each Spring.

Provides for the spiritual and social needs of the senior members of the parish. The
group meets the third Friday of each month at 11:30AM in the Parish Center for
conversation, games, and a brown bag lunch. Trips are often planned.

Offers an emergency food supply to those parishioners in need.
Non-perishable food is donated by parishioners weekly. Food is left in the designated
boxes in the rear of the church and packed by volunteers. The food pantry in open
from 9:00AM - 10:00AM Monday mornings for distribution.

The Father Francis Craft Council #11434 is a fraternal organization which
performs service and charitable works. They organize youth activities, fund raising trips,
assist at the Block Party, and participate in the Baptismal process. Meets the 2nd and 4th
Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. and the 4th Sat.
at 9:30 a.m. in the Parish Center.

Tries, through various means, to heighten awareness in our parish of the
issues of abortion, infanticide and euthanasia. As none of these practices are permitted
by the Catholic Church, as a loving community we provide an outreach to people facing
difficult life decisions. We are affiliated with the Deanery pro-life group, CryOut!

Provides a welcome atmosphere for new members; each of whom is called
personally. Coffee and donuts are served after 12:05 Mass twice a year. Watch the Bulletin
for details. All parishioners are invited to meet new members.

A fund raising and great social event that takes place every August on the
parish grounds.

A complete scouting program is offered following recommendations by the
Boy Scouts of America. The troop has been in existence and active since 1928.

Many young girls take an active part in our Girl Scout program.
"Daisies" are for kindergarten students and "Brownies" are generally
ages 6-7-8. As girls advance, there is a junior program offered. As the girls advance in
scouting they are given more responsibility and leadership.

Cub Scout Pack #83: Cub Scouting helps to teach boys to be self-reliant,
dependable and caring individuals, while building self-esteem and having fun along the
way.

Held in September, this family oriented day provides games, music,
entertainment, food, and fun for all members. It is usually held at Dansbury Park in East
Stroudsburg.

St. Matthew's is a member of the Monroe County Church Softball League and
the Amateur Softball Association of America. The league is co-ed and very competitive. The
season usually starts the first week of May and ends in early August (including playoffs)
with games played on weekdays starting at 6:30 p.m. Currently players must be at least 15
years old with those under 18 needing a parental permission slip.

St. Matthew's is a member of the Monroe County Church Volleyball League.
The season usually starts the second week of January and ends the last week of March
(including playoffs) with matches played on weekdays starting at 6:00 or 7:30 p.m.
Currently players must be at least 15 years old with those under 18 needing a parental
permission slip.
