Baptism
Call the rectory to register. Parents are required to participate in baptismal preparation on the second Sunday of the month at 7:00 p.m. Baptism is celebrated the First and Third Sundays of the month at 1:30 p.m.
First Penance and Eucharist
Children in the second grade are instructed for receiving First Penance in the winter and First Eucharist in the spring. This instruction is part of a parish program of sacramental preparation which includes CCD, the children of Notre Dame Elementary school, home schooled children, and the parents of all the children. First Penance and Eucharist preparation is a two year program.
Confirmation
Through this program students come to realize that confirmation is the beginning of their participation in the community of Saint Matthew's as mature, responsible Christians. A few of the activities are: service projects, retreats, special liturgies, and reflection on scripture readings. Classes are held on Sunday morning, Sunday evening, and Monday evening. This instruction is part of a parish program of sacramental preparation which includes CCD, the children of Notre Dame schools, and home schooled children. Marriage
Couples contemplating marriage should notify us at least six months before the date on which they wish to marry. This should be done before any arrangements are made. The date and time for the church cannot be secured until both parties meet with one of the priests.
Sacrament of the Sick
Please let us know if someone is sick or homebound. The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick is for comfort and strength of the ill, not just for those in immediate danger of death.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion take Communion to the homebound on a regular basis. Call the Rectory to make arrangements.
